OUR HISTORY

Providing Over 60 Years of Service

Ralph B. Humphreys started R.B. Humphreys, Inc. in 1961. Originally from a farm family with an unbreakable work pedigree and a thrifty attitude, Ralph grew the company from one truck to a respectable company on the move. The company quickly began to establish itself as a reputable regional and long-distance trucking company specializing in refrigerated products and equipped to do flatbed loads, dry loads, and meat on rail trailers

The Present

In 2001, Ralph Humphreys retired and sold to a management group previously partnered with Thorn Apple Valley, a corporation with extensive experience and a major meat company, specializing in finance, operations, logistics, and warehousing. The new owners continued the expansion of the company and vowed to keep the same attention to customer service that had been tradition under the Humphreys’ namesake.

The company currently has a fleet of 100 tractors and 150 trailers and a new terminal located at Exit 32 (Westmoreland, NY), off I 90, is a 30-acre parcel that provides needed trailer parking along with a garage and dock facilities to continue our growth.
Sales are generated from 175-225 active customers located in a 400-mile radius of Central New York State.
